CURRENT FAMILY CAMP 2021 @ MCLAREN FALLS HOSTEL

Cost is $5 per person per night.
BYO breakfast, lunch, snacks & drinks. We will provide the three dinners—a donation box will be available.

Outdoor space for tents and camper-vans. Limited beds available inside for adults and special needs.

ACTIVITIES: Swimming / Campfires / Fishing / Spot Light Tag / Glow Worms / Frisbee Golf / Marshalls Animal Park / Movie Night (Fri.) / Games
* We will also have morning devotions & our Current service Sunday @ 10:30am.

BRING: bible, tent, sleeping bag, camping gear, food/drinks, chair, torch, togs, games, bug spray, sunblock, outdoor clothes, water toys, frisbee.

McLaren Park Address for GPS Directions: 190 Mclaren Falls Rd, Omanawa 3171

The above address gets you to the park and then you will need to drive through the park up the hills and look for a gate on your LEFT to the Equestrian Area…you will need to open the gate and drive through where the hostel is located. We will attempt to put a flag by this gate if we are allowed. There is little or no signage up to this area.

Hostel Location

Please be aware that the hostel is located within the Equestrian Area of the park and from time to time there will be equestrian events taking place whilst the hostel is booked. Please take extra care when getting to and from the hostel when events are taking place.
Guests arriving/leaving outside of the park opening hours, are required to use the rear service gate.

McLaren Falls main gate opens at 7:30am and closes at 7:30pm.

Hostel facilities

three bedrooms with 10 bunk beds
two inside toilets and showers
lounge/kitchen/dining area
kitchen with two fridges, a freezer, microwave, toaster, stove and zip water heater, some cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils and cleaning products
There is a paddock next to the hostel which can be used for camping.

TROUT FISHING

There is year-round fishing in Lake McLaren and in the Ruahihi Canal. You need a fishing license prior to visiting the park.
